I am not sure how anyone could survive the fall let alone the altitude of 23 miles up in the clouds.
Here is the article http://newsfeed.time.com/2012/10/08/felix-baumgartners-23-mile-freefall-attempt-by-the-numbers/
What is more amazing is that the man's recorded he is trying to break. Here is a video to understand his story. http://www.youtube.com/watch?v=MQ7N6V-YKJ8
If Felix is able to break Kittinger's record - is it as amazing considering Kittinger did it 52 years earlier with much less modern equipment and technology.
Also who would be crazing enough to free fall over 23 miles?
Update - Yesterday Tuesday Felix wasn't able to jump trying again today

If you been keeping up with Felix as of 10/13/12 no jump - waiting until 10/14 for better weather.
Well this is due on 10/14/12 - maybe Felix will have completed the jump.
He made it - http://www.nytimes.com/2012/10/15/us/felix-baumgartner-skydiving.html?smid=tw-bna&bna=2676
