Well in New York City there are elite public schools in which incoming students (middle school) students take one test to grant admission. WOW. Can you image that; however, the majority of the students that are enrolled are from Asian descent. Now other groups are challenging that as unfair because "Asians" are better test takers.
If you read the article it goes on to illustrate how many of the immigrants enrolled their sons and daughters in test prep programs and the students study long hours just for the chance to better themselves. (isn't that what America is about?)
Other groups are claiming unfair because they don't have access to the test prep programs.
What are your thoughts? Are specific groups better at standardized tests (OGT, ACT, SAT & College) Are some groups more motivated academically? Do certain cultures place a higher value on education? So many avenue to think about. Give me your thoughts
